About the Python language
Wednesday, May 28
Python is a relatively-new language, first released to the public in 1991. It's - to me - much easier to read, and to write, than most other languages such as Java and C++, to the point that writing Python programs is a lot of fun. Check out the Python website

Python is not really that new at all. It has been around since the late-80s or early 90s.

Python was conceived by Guido Van Rossum and first released to the public in 1991,
according to the history of the language at Wikipedia..
So we old-timers consider it 'new'.
(I started writing BASIC programs in 1964.)
You're free to consider it 'not really that new' if you like.
